1. Controller

The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website is:
Sven Isele
Wiesenhofstr. 10
79356 Eichstetten
Germany
Email: straussenzeit@outlook.de

2. General information

Straußenzeit processes personal data only where necessary to operate the website, provide its features or respond to enquiries. Personal data is shared with third parties only where technically necessary, legally permitted or with your consent.

3. Hosting by Vercel

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you access the website, Vercel processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, date and time, requested page, amount of data transferred, browser and device information, and referrer URL. This processing is necessary to deliver the website and ensure its stability and security. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website.

Vercel uses globally distributed infrastructure. Personal data may therefore be processed in the USA or other countries outside the EU/EEA. The safeguards and retention periods applicable to this processing are governed by Vercel’s current contractual and privacy terms. Further information: Vercel Privacy Notice.

4. Contacting us by email

If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide, in particular your email address, your name if supplied, the content of your message and any attachments, in order to respond to your enquiry. Our mailbox is provided by Microsoft (Outlook). Your message is therefore transmitted to and processed on Microsoft systems. Depending on Microsoft’s infrastructure, processing outside the EU/EEA may occur.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. If your enquiry concerns entering into or performing a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR also applies. Messages are deleted when the enquiry has been conclusively dealt with unless statutory retention obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims require longer storage. Further information: Microsoft Privacy Statement.

5. “Near you” location feature

If you use the “Near you” feature, your browser asks for your current location. This location data is used exclusively and locally in your browser to calculate distances to wine taverns and sort results by distance. It is not transmitted to our server, stored permanently or used for tracking.

Sharing your location is voluntary. You can decline the request or withdraw permission later in your browser or device settings.

6. Language selection

The language is determined by the page URL. English pages use the /en prefix. We do not store a language preference in cookies or local storage.

7. Vercel Web Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics, provided by Vercel Inc. (see section 3), to measure use of this website and improve its content. Page views, referrers, approximate region and browser/device information are processed. According to Vercel, no analytics cookies are used; a request-derived visitor hash is discarded after 24 hours. This does not mean that aggregated statistics are deleted after 24 hours. We receive aggregated reports and do not use advertising tracking.

Where personal data is processed, we rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for our interest in measuring and improving our website. You may object on grounds relating to your particular situation using the contact details above. Processing outside the EU/EEA is possible; see section 3 and Vercel’s Data Processing Addendum. Further information: Vercel Web Analytics privacy information.

8. OpenStreetMap

Interactive maps load map tiles from the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF). Your browser necessarily transmits data including your IP address, the requested tile, date and time, browser/device information and the referring page to OSMF and its delivery network. Tiles are delivered through a global network, so processing outside the EU/EEA cannot be ruled out. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the user-friendly geographical presentation of the listed venues. Further information: OSMF Privacy Policy.

9. External links

Straußenzeit links to external websites, menus and route planners, including establishment websites and Google Maps. When you follow an external link, you leave Straußenzeit. The respective provider is responsible for processing data on the external website.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have in particular the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

11. Updates to this privacy policy

We update this policy when the website’s features, technical processes, services or legal requirements change. In particular, it will be reviewed before additional analytics or marketing services are enabled.
